C is for chimes:
Kid was walking along the empty streets of Death city. He didn't know where he was walking to he just felt the need to walk at the moment. What he didn't know was that he had caught someone's eye. She began to run after him, he was alone and she wanted to spare a moment with him. Who is this girl, well it was none other then Liz Thompson. Her was hair bouncing in front of her face. 'What luck to find him. He's is always on missions, so I haven't been able to have a decant conversation with him, and here's my chance.' She was now close enough for him to hear footsteps, and being curious to see if it was an enemy he looked.
"Kid! Its me Liz!" she yelled with a smile coming to a stop. He returned the smile. "It has been quite sometime since we have spoken…hasn't it Liz?" he had a coldness in his voice that was never there before. "Yea do you think we could hang out for a while? If it's ok with you?" there was nervousness in her voice which also has never been there either. "Yes of course, it wouldn't hurt to catch up." With that he lead the way outside of Death city to get a little bit of privacy. They found a plateau and decided to talk there. "So. What do you want to talk about?" Liz was rather uncomfortable now. "How have you been doing?" he asked very casually. "I'm doing well, what about you?"
"Yes I'm doing well too."
"Are you sure? You seem different"
"Really? Well I could say the same to you?" He began to chuckle.
"How so?" she asked blushing.
"Well you were never so nervous for starters."
"Well excuse me for changing. Since when have you ever cared about something other then symmetry?" she pouted
"I'm not quite understanding your point."
"You know quite well! You lock yourself up when you came home, you barely eat, or hang out with me and Patty!" she was on the verge of tears "Kid did I do something bad and now you hate me?" tears began flowing out of her eyes and since her hair was covering her face he couldn't see, but he knew he made her cry by her sobs.
"No it's not you I just don't think you should take all the blame for no reason. I was being a bad miester, can you give me another chance Liz?" she looked up to finally see the shinigami she had somehow fallen in love smile just for her. "Yes you can." she was happy and maybe she could.
"Liz are you ok?" asked the blushing boy; she moved closer just inches from his face, if he didn't lean back. "Fine and you?" he cracked a smile "yea." Now for some reason he leaned towards her to get a reaction from her. She blushed as she felt his breath so close, and heat from his body.
"Kid?"
"Yea?"
"Do you.."
"Yes?"
DING DONG DING DONG~ The loud sound from some bells startled them and caused the distance between them to widen. "Something tells me, father wants us home. Come on Liz." He stretched his hand out for her and she took it with no second thought. They both ran together towards and thought at the same time 'one day I will be able  to tell you I love you.
